Thomas Walter Peeler, 88, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, Illinois. Born in Anna Illinois on August 26, 1929, to Thomas and Roxy Peeler, he lived most of his life in Peoria.

Tom was a legendary high school football coach. He finished his coaching career in 1984 at Richwoods High School, winning the State 5-A championship and completing an undefeated and untied season. He received many honors and awards including induction into the Tri-County Area Hall of Fame and Coach of the Year on numerous occasions. He loved his wife, Mary Ann, and is happy to finally be reunited with her in heaven. He was very proud of his sons, Tom, David, Jeff, and Greg, who all had the “pleasure” of playing for him. He is survived by all of his sons, their wives, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandson. His lasting legacy will be the values he instilled in the thousands of young men he had the privilege to coach.

The family will receive friends and those who knew Coach Peeler on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, 2021 North University Street, Peoria, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the Richwoods High School Football Program, 6301 North University Street, Peoria, IL 61614. On-line condolences and tributes may be made at www.davison-fulton.com.
